It is Nationwide Cat Day!
If you didn’t know now, Kiki is our unofficial mascot (pictured in this article!) and she makes us smile each one day. We’re bringing some light-weight hearted entertaining to you today with adorable cat pics and a site submit featuring Kiki through the a long time at KDJ.
Kiki’s adoption was overall happenstance! The initial working day I met Kiki I was aiding out on the set of an unbiased film that was becoming shot in Downtown LA. A person asked if I could give them a experience dwelling and on the way back again to Echo Park (a neighborhood on the east side of LA) she questioned me if I understood any person who would want to adopt a cat. Expanding up we usually experienced a cat… or two. As nicely as fish, birds, rabbits — funnily plenty of we by no means had a dog! I appreciate animals and at that stage I experienced been living in LA for about 5 decades. Currently being absent from all my relatives was hard and I always needed to have a cat but was on the fence considering that I would be her sole caretaker.
When I dropped off the girl I was giving a trip to she advised me to appear in and see the kittens. I must have known from that level that I was heading to go residence with a cat, LOL. Kiki was born less than a porch and the Mom experienced disappeared so my new close friend experienced taken in all the kittens so they would not be left to fend for by themselves. After I noticed Kiki and her shiny blue eyes I realized she was my woman.
She was extremely shy at 1st. Hiding below the couch and bed for days on stop, only to appear out at night time when there ended up no terrifying sounds aka people chatting or songs likely. But our bond grew around time and I couldn’t imagine everyday living with out her! She is the greatest furry mate and helps make me smile each and every working day.

- Her initial title was Emma (I was a obsessed with the Television set display, Good friends and it was Rachel & Ross’ name for their daughter) but Kiki hardly ever responded to Emma so I changed her title, ha!
- Her preferred time to cuddle is anytime I place a tender blanket on my legs
- She loves sunbathing, just like her mom 🥰 (see under image!)
- She never utilized to be fascinated in cat toys until finally my Mother gave her some for Christmas this earlier 12 months and now she’s obsessed!
