“Land of dystopia/
Spiritual myopia.”

People of you who are in NYC and have no options in the really around long term can be part of me at this march in Brooklyn at 5 PM nowadays.

Not in New York Town or normally not accessible? Never worry! I have a week’s well worth of activism alternatives for individuals in NYC and throughout the country in my most current Indivisible Activate NYC newsletter.

Read THE Publication AND GET ACTIVATED!

On the educational entrance, there’s no time like the current to study (or re-examine) the popular 4th of July speech by statesman/orator/abolitionist Frederick Douglass. If you’re more of a listener than a reader, you’re in luck, for the reason that you can listen to James Earl Jones go through it.

JAMES EARL JONES READS THE DOUGLASS SPEECH.

Any time I re-study this speech myself, one ingredient of it often hits me differently than the final time, relying on recent situations. Today it is this passage:

There are seventy-two crimes in the State of Virginia, which, if fully commited by a black person, (no make any difference how ignorant he be), topic him to the punishment of death although only two of the exact same crimes will subject matter a white man to the like punishment.

How tiny has transformed, and how hard we will have to combat! But really do not despair. As Coretta Scott King mentioned, “Freedom is never ever actually received. You get paid it and win it in each and every generation.” Let’s win.
