1. We’re going trick or managing with mates tonight!
(Our first time trick or treating, obviously June was as well youthful very last year!) Not certain if the rain will keep off or how extensive we will very last. June has each a bat and a bunny costume–here’s a photo of her bat costume higher than. 🥰 We may well improve into the bunny later–we shall see!
2. A sweet mate dropped off two candles from this neighborhood Chicago candle corporation (she’s on Etsy!) as a gift–the “Midwest” (like a pumpkin-y vanilla scent) and “Provence” (amber + lavender) and they scent Amazing.
They’re nontoxic produced of coconut wax and $30 every. I appreciate them. Thank you, Deb! Also, you must comply with Deb’s dwelling Instagram account–it’s SO gorgeous!
3. On remaining a guardian and vacation:
I have traveled fairly a bit devoid of June considering the fact that turning out to be a mother and was reminded of just one of the finest pieces of being a guardian returning house from Lisbon: you are under no circumstances sad to come property from holiday vacation any longer. 4. Talking of, I know I just bought residence but the impending drizzly weather conditions has me itching to strategy a trip to Florida.
We ordinarily normally go to Ft. Lauderdale and hoping to sneak down there at minimum once ahead of our journey in the spring. We’re organizing to do the similar detail we did last 12 months in renting a friends condo for the month of March (splitting time with Neal’s parents—so we’d choose two weeks and they’ll choose two weeks or some thing together these lines). Fingers crossed we can get there in December or January even though. (FYI, the Hilton suitable on the seaside is pretty family pleasant, we have stayed there a couple occasions!)
5. Just one of my preferred foods in Lisbon was this Greek restaurant that has me craving Greek foods, so Greek hen bowls have been in the rotation a whole lot these days!
June loves them much too! (Properly, minus the salad section. I can’t say she’s huge on salad.)
6. Speaking of Mediterranean food stuff, I went to Lyra for supper a couple of weeks in the past with girlfriends and it was so fantastic.
Really extremely recommend if you’re hunting for a fantastic spot in the west loop. Its very lively and enjoyable ambiance and I imagine it would be terrific for a day. There is a wine and piano bar down the road known as Grapes & Grains that would be terrific for a nightcap!
7. Speaking of excellent dining establishments, I’m dying to get back to Armitage Alehouse.
Neal hasn’t been nonetheless (I have only been once) but it is SO cool—the decor is like a wonderful old English pub with elevated Indian fusion foodstuff.
8. Did you see Blondo came out with the Sierra boot in a magnificent dark chocolate brown? 👀

9. My challenge for this 7 days:
I purchased a bunch of classic South Shore Line posters for our hallway, and I have to have to get them hung! The South Shore Line is the teach that operates from Chicago to Northwest Indiana (which include Beverly Shores, where Neal’s family’s lake house is!) and they designed a bunch of posters to encourage tourism again in the 1920’s. There are a lot of really cool ones and I imagined it would be a great use of the quite blank house in our very long slim hallway! (Ultimately acquiring artwork on the walls, you know, 6 yrs later on.)
10. Aged Navy arrived out with new “Built in Warm” jeans!!!
And they’re 30% off proper now! I Reside in these jeans for the duration of the coldest winter season months–they’re lined with a lightweight fleecy product and are so a great deal hotter than normal trousers, but they never make you overheat within! I have two of their Rockstar skinny designs (which are fantastic for tall boots) but I just ordered a few of their straight leg variations to take a look at out, much too.
